U.I.M Powerboat P1 World Championship
Drawing
on the tradition that has often brought Iveco success
in the past in offshore competitions, 2006 marks the
return of an engine for offshore racing after an absence
of 17 years.
In 2006, FPT will participate in
the World Offshore UIM Powerboat P1 championship, with
the Iveco Motors brand, supplying an NEF 400 common
rail engine to the Club Italia Offshore Racing team.
Tests
of the new engine on the Apache 41' "Datch" began in
January, in preparation for the start of the 2006 championship,
which will comprise the following 6 stages:
- May 2006, Valletta, Malta
- June 2006, Anzio,
Italy
- July 2006, Travemunde, Germany
- August
2006, Cowes, UK
- September 2006, Gallipoli,
Italy
- Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, 2006, TBD, Spain
The
event is always followed by huge crowds and usually
broadcast in more than 70 countries.
